This bonsai combines the best of birch and aluminum. It's perfect for those who love the tactile beauty and quality of wood, but also value the durability and ease of maintenance of corrosion-free metal. Designed for 2- to 4-year-olds, with a trunk height of 33 cm.

No composite materials. No compromises.

The bonsai frame is made from 100% grade A birch from Northern Europe. We don't stretch it with fillers or glue together wood scraps to imitate wood – we use real wood. Sustainably sourced and made for lasting quality.

Birch is ideal: stable, lightweight, splinter-free – and perfect for children. Thanks to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio, the bike is easy to handle without the weight affecting its balance. And it looks good too: finely grained, smooth, and free of knots.

The beauty of wood, the precision and durability of aluminum

If a balance bike is built to last, it should also be beautiful to look at. The Bonsai achieves precisely this combination of technical finesse and aesthetic design. Of course, it's a really great bike – but it's also simply beautiful.

Unlike the Lite and the Classic – the other wooden models in the range – the Bonsai comes with a precisely manufactured aluminum finishing kit. Developed in close collaboration with Ritchey Logic, this results in a particularly high-quality stem and handlebar combination.

Tom Ritchey, the tireless president and chief designer of his company, is considered a co-founder of mountain biking. We have been working with him for over ten years to develop top-quality, child-friendly components.

“Roll model”

The Bonsai features market-leading aluminum rims and hubs to save weight, and high-quality sealed ABEC cartridge bearings to minimize weight and rolling resistance.
By using such high-quality wheel sets, we can invest the weight in tires that offer the safety and performance that make all the difference, without adding weight.

Roll gently

The Bonsai rolls on 1.75-inch wide, smooth-rolling tires that give 2- to 4-year-olds the stability they need for learning, the air volume for the necessary comfort, and the grip to confidently navigate mixed terrain, even in the rain. Because there's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong balance bike.
